Blue Pearl

My second somewhat successful attempt at capturing a water drop. Of course I spent about three hours capturing this one. I’m definitely open to suggestions or tips. I’ve seen many unique, beautiful water drops on RedBubble and have been eager to improve my technique. Taken with my
Nikon D300.Thank you!

This is beautiful! The only suggestion that I can make about this would be to isolate the droplet from the extraneous things in the background such as the highlights to the upper left of the droplet and the grey in the background. But, truth to tell, I like this shot anyway :-) Your patience has been rewarded

Hi! Truly appreciate your comments and critique! Those are all good tips; I was so focused on the drop, that I didn’t notice the side details. I think you are right on; I tried to get a tighter crop and it works, but then if I replace the photo, I lose these comments so I’ll work on my cropping tighter on the next one. Wow Heeb, I love this shot ! Great Color, it almost looks like a painting. I don’t know that I have seen one with this little sphere of water sitting in the middle like that , very interesting . I think you did a great job. :)

Very nice indeed. Love the colour. Be prepared to spend many hours doing waterdrops. It can be addictive. And frustrating, And time wasting. But euphoric when you get a good one. For a “novice” you have some gorgeous photos. :)
