Corrugated iron was widely use in the Western Isles from the 1930’s as the old blackhouses were replaced and much of it still remains today turned to a glorious rusty red over the years. On the right day with the sun catching the roof these wonderful old buildings are part of the Hebridean landscape that will live in the mind forever.

Moved to the Isle of Lewis in the The Outer Hebrides off the north-west coast of Scotland in July 2010 with the aim of getting out and about with my camera. Hasn’t quite worked out that way as we’ve spent the past 18 months refurbishing our house but the opportunities will come.

Meanwhile I’ll be going through my collection to pick out some of those that have pleased me over the years.
