An early morning walk towards the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye gave the opportunity of seeing the other islands of the Inner Hebrides in a beautiful delicate light. The view here is from the path to Camasunary across Loch Scavaig to the Isle of Rum in the distance and the island of Soay on the right, Beyond Soay lies Canna and to the far left is the mainland of Scotland.

The original ‘straight’ photograph is very similar to this although here I have processed it with just a touch of ‘painterliness’. Couldn’t really decide but took a chance on this one. Maybe I should upload the straight shot as well?

This is completely different to what I normally do, maybe it’s time to take up painting!

Moved to the Isle of Lewis in the The Outer Hebrides off the north-west coast of Scotland in July 2010 with the aim of getting out and about with my camera. Hasn’t quite worked out that way as we’ve spent the past 18 months refurbishing our house but the opportunities will come.

Meanwhile I’ll be going through my collection to pick out some of those that have pleased me over the years.
