This is utterly beautiful, love the blue upon the winds and the detail you have captured.

Do you use a tripod or mono pod when out and about with such a telephoto lens to help reduce camera shake.

  • Thank you so much Karen for such a wonderful comment. With this particular lens I only hand hold and hold the camera and lens as close to the body as possible.I found the tripod was only restricting me as a lot of the time you have to be instantaneous and continuos shoot on autofocus.Today though due to a pinched nerve in the old back sat down to rest and looked across and there this little bird was.Reted the camera on my knee and just fired away. When you want that shot you just try to focus so hard and it works. The lens does have Vibration control but the faster your shutter speed and low f stop, aperature seems to work great.ISO usually around 200 to prevent noise.Sorry to waffle on ,
    Cheers Heather x
