Thanks so much, glad you liked it.
Eye-catching, skillful work. Nice to see scratchboard art on the bubble! :)
Thanks, I haven’t seen too much here, I thought there’d be more.
WOW! This is fabulous work Heather!
Pardon my ignorance, but what is scratchboard?
Thanks, I use Ampersand Claybord (white) and Ampersand Scratchbord (black) which you can get for a good price on dickblick.com and a standard x-acto knife to scratch. It’s a fun medium if you like detail (which I obviously do!).
Scratchboard is a technique where drawings are created using sharp knives and tools for etching into a thin layer of white China clay that is coated with black India ink. Scratchboard can also be made with several layers of multi-colored clay, so the pressure exerted on the instrument used determines the color that is revealed. Scratchboard can be used to yield highly detailed, precise and even textured artwork.
Thanks for adding your answer. Have you ever done it before? You seem to have a good knowledge of the medium.
Beautiful Heather, I wish I had your talentAnne
Thanks, you’re pretty good with the encaustics so I guess we all have our specialties.
