ONE A DAY GROUP 9.25.2012
I do not smoke.
I don’t like smelling cigarette tobacco ….but… recently I was at a baby shower, with about 60 women, of all ages.
The shower was for my friend’s daughter in law. Most of the guests were of Middle Eastern origin.
The food was delicious, the people were warm and friendly , and I didn’t see anyone smoking…until later in the day, when out came a few hookahs!
I had to try it!
Very mild fruity flavor…

This photo shows the top of the hookah as the coals are being prepared.
The hot coals roast the sheesha (flavored tobacco) which is then cooled as it goes through a stem into the bubbling water in the base.
There is a controversy as to whether or not this type of smoking is as risky as standard smoking , for health issues. Some say yes.. others say no. It is still under study.

And here I thought they were for smoking opium or hashish. Shows what I know. :o) Very cool.

  • I believe in certain circles they are used with hashish..probably opium too, I guess!
