WEIGHT LOSS….For some time now, I have been concerned with what I have seen on TV and in the streets , regarding the two weight issues here in the USA. On one hand we have over weight and on the other, under weight.

The children today, for the most part, are not active and no longer play outside, as I did in my generation.
I skipped rope, climbed trees, played hopscotch, etc. Today the children are on the computers from the time they can sit up!
There is little to NO physical activity…this, accompanied with bad eating habits cause overweight which causes illnesses which shortens life.

The opposite of this situation is the teenage crisis of dieting and not eating, in order to look like the air brushed ultra thin fashion models that they see on screen and in the magazines. This practice results in eating disorders that affect the internal organs permanently and results in health issues which also shortens life.

I believe one of the answers is to eat FRESH foods, cooked from scratch, the old fashioned way, rather then using boxed, canned , frozen, packaged, and pre-cooked “foods” containing a huge list of unpronounceable chemicals.

Not only is this the path to health, but fresh ingredients end up costing less than the processed aforementioned factory foods.

To boost physical activity, parking far from the store doors, or the restaurant, and walking further is a good change in habit.
So is using stairs NOT elevators, and if sports is not an option, then just taking a walk somewhere daily, is a good start!

Diets CANNOT work , because when one returns to normal life without those diet rules and special foods and shakes, the weight returns, and more …Oprah can vouch for that!

So eat right, have fun cooking, take a walk and smell the flowers!
