FEATURED in Hat Heads (01/14)
This is a dear friend of several years. He is a Rastafarian, and in this photo his long dreadlocks are hidden under his hat. To me, he was dressed like an African King at the Kwanzaa celebration held at The World Beat Center in San Diego, December 2013.
Malcolm X played an important part in the struggle for Freedom by African Americans. I do not support violence, but I do understand that to achieve freedom from slavery and prejudice, it is often used. Sad but a reality.
Can we all please FINALLY just get along?

Very stylish outfit he’s got on. Persecution in this world is wrong for anyone and we will never even hear about most of it. World peace will one day happen, that I am sure of, but how many people will have to die first I have no idea. You’d think that we’d learn from history that violence is not the answer. Heaven help us all!

Many hurdles have been cleared since those days of turmoil in the past! Violence is never good and it is sad that it comes to that sometimes! There are still hurdles out there yet to be jumped, but it is possible to clear them if we would all just recognize one another as fellow human beings with many of the same dreams, hopes, and desires! Your friend looks very regal in his traditional attire! Wonderfully dedicated!:) Peace to all in this New Year!
