Dark Cities
It has relevance that me and a friend are working on.
I have so many projects going on at the moment, I FREAKIN LOVE IT! lol
Dark Cities that dress the sky
with lights and sounds to block out the night
Dancing succubi to entice weaker men,
into their lustily draped sinners den.
Rivers of emerald green feed the worthless mouth
of the weak souls whose sins pull them south.
Lords embracing their victims with false friendships
give them favours they soon call that cost betting chips.
The worth of God is left outside,
The Cult of Metatron sleeps within.
Dark Cities that embrace sins delight
with promises of lust that will never die
The devils in the black dresses are always watching over
moving between the captured spirits spreading words of 4 leaved clover.
The nights are full of suffocating fish, caught by decadent bait
now here they rarely sleep, and for death the quietly wait.
Crime is rife and in these nights death is silent,
Law is swift but always bent judgement.
The worth of God is left outside,
The Cult of Metatron scribes within.
Watching these souls,
preparing judgement of their sin.

I really enjoyed this. I like the feeling that there is no escape. ‘The worth of God is left outside – The Cult of Metatron scribes within’, super chilling. I have an appreciation for your knowledge of mythological beings and entities. I can imagine what you read about in your off time. Great writing. Smiles from Jane.

By the way I particularly like the use of the word scribes as something that is a judgemental tool. The picture in my mind is that they are writing down every damned sin I have done, and there is no escape. Not even by trying to seek the mercy of God.

Thanks, I am using it as a description for a series of poems I am writing that will tell a story.
You are actually pretty accurate, in mythology Metatron is believed to be the scribe of heaven. I am not sure on the full details of his job but I am pretty sure he writes down people sins.
The Cult of Metatron is a group of extremist Christians. They will play a massive role in the story I want to tell… and they aren’t the good guys. One of the main things they do is make records of the sins commited in the unnamed “Dark City”.
oh and for a little trivia, I made a link to the band Sisters of Mercy by using the lyrics “The devils in the black dresses are always watching over”, I changed them a little, and they come from the song “Temple of Love”.
In fact the whole story I am planning to tell is heavily based around one of my favourite bands Dimmu Borgir which means “Dark Cities” in Icelandic and Old Norse. I am heavily influenced by my music, lol.
