This is my first piece done in the ‘Prismacolour’ brand of colour pencil. All my other pencil pieces have been in Derwents. The subject is a small Rhododendron plant at my studio, a delight to draw and the pencils a delight to use. I did this piece while I was doing ’Steve’s VL’ the colours, frills and freedom of this was a break from the straight lines and accuracy of the cars. Done in Prismacolor Premiere pencils on light grey (nearly white) mount board. Size – 30 × 53cm. 2008
Won ‘Highly Commended’ at the Frankston Art Show 2008
Sold at exhibition 2009
