Thanks Jen, this was my first major attempt at pastels and I chose them for that very reason….......their vivid colour and intensity :)

How modest of you to refer to this as an “attempt” ... it is actually a masterpiece.

Alice McMahon ...
Absolutely incredible! I’m a pastel painter, and I’m not sure how you achieved this! Wow!
Heidi Garner replied
Thanx Alice. Im not sure either! I used a full sheet of blue colourfix pastel paper. I work on the flat, not on an easel. I don’t do all over layers, rather I work from one end to another, or one corner to another. A technique I use with my pencil work and I just tried it with pastels this time. I love the intensity of colour in pastels.
Marilyn Brown
I really love this, especially the light you have coming through the petals. This is really food for my eyes, and it’s delicious!

Heidi Garner replied
I’m not sure, I only keep a record of hours on the commissions I do. I estimate 40 – 50 hours Oh and thank you! :)

Great work all around…I particularly love the thin white halo around each part of the plant.
Heidi Garner replied 16 days ago
Thank you. This plant has fine ‘hair’ covering parts of it, that has caught the sunlight giving it that ‘halo’
