Ocean Heart
An homage to my hometown, Pacific Beach California, and to the mother of my soul, the awesome Pacific Ocean. Emerald green was my mother’s favorite color so I chose a green heart.
Ocean Heart belongs to the following groups:
Abstract Art, Altered Art - Collage and Assemblage, Mixed Media and Vibrant and Vivid Color Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

Beautiful and very original.

Thanks, I have spent a long time trying to find my own style. I worked many years at the computer (graphics and illustration). It’s a joy to work with my hands again.

Wonderful work, and a lot different than a good deal of the work you see on this site. I like it.
Diana Maus replied
Thank you Steven. I have switched from painting to mixed media because I became sensitive to oil paints and their mediums. I love working in a tactile medium now. I appreciate your comment!

Lovely work, Diana. I’m usually drawn to blue and copper combinations, and especially beading as nicely done as yours! Personally, I envy your talent – carpal tunnel struck last year – as I was in the midst of beading a project! Until I get the surgery, I won’t be doing such hand work!
Diana Maus replied
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear about your carpal tunnel! I have had it, used braces on my elbow and wrist until it healed but know how bad it is!
Thank you for the compliment too. :)

Beautiful artwork and tribute Diana. Green was also my mothers favourite colour! My grandfather used to call her spinach eyes, cause she had green eyes! LOL!
Diana Maus replied
Thanks! I don’t think I’d want to be called spinach eyes! LOL

Oh this is a stunning piece of work love the pthalo colors .. ;} Val hugzz
Diana Maus replied
Thanks. I think it’s funny that you mention pthalo colors! One of my early art teachers said pthalo paints were not to touch your palette because they don’t exist in nature! (I had very traditional training). Would he have approved of this piece? LOL

Diana your work is so beautiful and intricate . I agree with your profile !! I am doing as I want to ..but not a lot of accolades as in the real working world (well the continual money coming in !)..I spent over 30 years in jobs i hated so in times of doubt and feeling down ..I try to look at what I have and am achieving …..I love these colours as well !!!
Diana Maus replied
Thank you…I’m glad to see you have been so successful! I keep trying to justify doing this instead of getting that paycheck! But there is no going back “there”. to an office again. so…will be posting a new one soon.

People like myself that enjoy bead work would simply go mad over this. I really like how you’ve shown waves and small island hearts. This is wonderful.

Diana Maus replied
Thank you! I love arts and crafts from America and all over the world. I wanted to work in the spirit that women have enjoyed for centuries. I feel akin to something larger than myself when I bead.
helene ruiz
