Sort of love it & repulsed by it with all those pock marks on this pic Helene…
    very interesting shot indeed
    severe case of acne!!!!
The quality of the photo really sets this off well
    Well done
    Cheers Lee

  • Thanks a lot Lee. That’s exactly what one feels in front of the statue, attracted and repulsed, because of a disgusting illness mixed with great charm….

Remarkable hardly says it! I’m amazed that it isn’t in much worse condition after those 2000 years submerged. GREAT catch, Helene.

  • Thanks Sheila. Here is a view of the whole thing, which is hudge, one wonders if the dammage comes more from the water itself of from the contact with the sea bed (I just corrected my caption, not found in the sweet water of the river but in the sea…). Maybe your geologist bestpart would have an idea about the alteration of red marble ? ;-)

I love the ageing, great capture Helene.

  • Thank you Lorraine ! Indeed it’s the ageing that make him so interesting. Otherwise he would just look like an idealized handsome “fashion model”…

que dire… Je reste sans voie, à la foi fasciné et plein de philosophie.

  • Merci Etienne, cette statue est effectivement fascinante… Bonne année !
