Bio of an artist is in his works, nothing else required…
Thank you Greenstone ! The plant is actually 10 km behind and it is not where he is running away from… ;-)

good to know hes not paddling for his life!!! by the way my name is georgie, should you choose to use it!
Thank you very much, Georgie, I’ll be happy to do so. Although Greenstone means a lot to me, since as a researcher in archaeologist, I am particularly interested in some kinds of green stones — i.e. chlorite and steatite – which were used to produce carved objects during the Bronze Age in the Middle-East…
Wow this is excellent Helene!! Do you know what he is floating on? Such a dramatic shot! ;-)
Well, to tell the truth, not dramatic at all, and an excellent example of the power of misinformation of images when there are no words around, or the wrong ones… ;-) This perfectly happy fisherman is just reaching his small motor boat anchored a few yards from the shore (where I stand), using a very big slab of polystyrene. I guess after that I won’t be admitted in any journalist club ! Congratulations for your home page feature, dear Tatum !!!
Another facet of a life. Well done.
Thank you Fred ! It was funny as it looks so much as an iceberg, but in one of the hotest seas of the world…
thank you for your comment….i am very comfortable with either name, my friend! i love greenstone or georgie…..xxxx
Ok for Georgie and Greenstone, depending on the greenness of my mood ! Cheers !
This is amazing!Great composition and perfect timing. Can’t believe they use these things as ‘boats’, but then I remember they did it in Sinai too.
Just as a shuttle from the shore to the boat. I first noticed it on the beach and was wondering what it was doing here when the fisherman arrived and put it on the water… Couldn’t miss the picture with such a background !
I hope theres no sharks!! Great capture Helene!!
No sharks here, only dolphins ! ;-) Thank you Lorraine !
Thank you for your congrats Helene! ;o) Your images always make me want to visit Kuwait, somewhere I never previously imagined wanting to go to!
Neither did I, before I was taken there by chance for my job. There is always an unexpected face in everything ! ;-) (and your photo make me more willing to visit the far east, I hope I can do it sometime…)
Really cool shot, Looks great in B&W. But what exactly is the man doing. It looks like he’s stradnded on a block of ice and he’s paddling it with a long stick. lol :)
Thanks Kyle ! See my reply to Tatum for the explaination ! ;-)
Well it makes for a very light raft! I like the illusion that he is escaping from the plant.
;-) Thank you Peter !
