Nice shot Helene. Why not put a bit of a street scene from another shot to replace the white and the end of the lane and give the image even more depth?

  • Thank you Peter, I will see what can be done, but I like the actual impression of being blinded by the light outside, which corresponds to the reality in this labyrinth of small lane going under houses to access others behind.

like the way you have caught the way these buildings were built to create shade and wind to cool them in the heat of the sun and have that explosion of light as you step out of the shade, nice details of the building caught here as well

  • Thank you Richard, these paths are generating such great soft and warm lights, sometimes the ambience is really magic, no wonder they also produced the 1001 nights stories…

I like the composition and perspective, great details in the shadows, but I do feel that the strong highlight at the end is too detracting. I understand your erlier response about it, but in a way the eye is drawn immediately to the glare, loosing the visual impact of the street.. Thanks for sharing with the Art of the Middle East group.

  • Thanks for your comment Eyal. I am not a great adept of HDR (which would have been the way to keep the details in the back) when it makes exposition look unnatural. Maybe one day I have enough practice to make it properly ! ;-)
