This is lovely, the subtle decoration/pattern around the door and the colour that lies beneath it, makes me wonder about its history and use as a doorway…well done!
Thank you Keryn. Actually this is the very simply decorated door of a small funerary building amidst the city center of an old yemeni city. “Normal” buildings are much more ornamented ! They all used to be painted with britgh colours but nowadays they just do the maintenance by covering them annually with a white slip. Yemen has always been closely related with the indian and far-eastern world (maritime commercial network) and it shows everywhere in architecture…
