Oil on Canvas
Sunset and Cypress and Highway 1
Drove a friend north to his house, and this was the scene en route. I mean spectacular. There was close to zero cloud or sunset fog, very unusual. The sky was nearly blank, and none of the atmosphere there to catch color bands or flighty clouds distracting from the brilliant orange sun.
We pulled over for the breathtaking view and watched the sun descend and vanish.
On the way back home the sky turned to stars and moonlight. I do live in such an exceptional bit of geography. I love this place.
Within an hour of landing I started this canvas. The black green clump of cypress trees right above the sandy beach and rocks cradled the sun going down. Memorable.
Hope you like it too.
