I’d just moved into this place two summers ago and wanted to paint the view and all the bloomery going on inside and out. I actually sold this before I had a photograph of it, and today the buyer sent the promised picture.
It’s the inside front room of a little log cabin up on a high ridge here. Everything was solar and propane, very rustic. Lots of beautiful landscaping I added to considerably, then moved. The distant canopy of trees completely overshadowed the house by the fall and winter was dark. Solar sucks. My first and hopefully last experience. I had to paint in daylight and there was less and less of that going to winter and the rainy season. The lights were dim, the generator on all the time and very costly….gas is almost five bucks a gallon locally. But this was a surprise reminder of the first early days of being in love with the woods and living off sunshine.
