Wild Blue Daisies in Dust Storm- SOLD-9/19/10 by

Oil on Canvas
It only rains two or three months out of the year, though flowers bloom year round the first real punch of color is when the intense sun hits saturated land and everything that’s waited pops out of the soil. The air’s still turbulent, dust storms in the prairies and meadows sweep into the mountains, and head for the ocean.

You have such expressive brush stroke and such vibrant colors, so full of life. I feel like I’m repeating myself when I review your work but I do love it. I love the warmth in this, even the cool colors and shadows hold warmth. Beautiful!

Thank you Sande. Thank you Ruth. I really like seeing the paint have its own life. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, color makes me drool. I’m sure there’s a cure for that but I’m not looking. For painters who haven’t discovered it, there’s an electrifying blue called Konigsblau or King’s Blue. Made by several oil paint companies, Rembrandt & Sennelier do the best. It leans into violet just enough to make you gasp for air. For photographers, blue when orange heading to yellow gray is next to it will strenghten it’s punch. You all know this already.

I can experience and enjoy the love of nature through your painting and writing and I am rejuvenated by the beauty and magic. Van Gogh captured the wind, the rain and the sun beating down, the crows flying over and his great passion and truth still lives.

An amazing work – puttig the dasies against the storm like that – and showing the result – is really effective. The way the highest flower is being blown – gets me right there
