Ah Adrian, from a total horsey guy, that’s a supreme complement, and I thank you.

You knew I’d love this:) Wonderful painting and design. You’re giving me incentive to lose some weight so I don’t look like a bunch of potatoes crammed into a sack in a T. I love this shirt. All of the designs you’ve posted this morning are fantastic!

Ah yes . . . a scene I would enjoy viewing every day . . . so to be able to wear this masterpiece is quite an honour . . . fabulous addition to your collection Barbara!
Barbara Sparhawk
Thank you Sande. I keep a little gorgeous blouse two sizes two small hanging from my mirror so I know what the future holds if I lay off buttered bread for a week I could button it. Buy big. And I know, Ruth’s modeling has given us all a lot to live up to. Thanks so much for what you’ve said.

Thanks, blamo. I’m glad you tried other colors, too. I always like to play with the backgrounds. It was a great morning, that scene, mist burning off the pasture.
Barbara Sparhawk
Oh Ruth my buddy, thank you for all you say and do.

This one makes me homesick!
Barbara Sparhawk replied
Now I know you, I understand why. You’re a California ex-pat! This was a horse, Douglass, the favorite of the owner of Holman Ranch. I lived there for about four years, first in the cruddy bunkhouse then in a tack room next to the barn I’d converted into a liveable studio. I saw every dawn and sunset. This was always there, outside my door. She had over 150 spectacular horses boarded and in the pasture. You could walk anywhere on 450 acres of the most beautiful land in Carmel Valley, maybe the world. I am homesick for it, too. It went into other hands following the owner’s death. They’ve done an awful job of descimating the land, cutting down live oak and all the ancient juniper and rosemary bushes that spilled over the roads. Nothing lasts. The pasture’s become a vineyard. A handful of horses remain. I’m so glad I was privileged to be there when I was.
The original painting was stolen from a restaurant in Carmel I waitressed in a few years back. I’m glad I had a photograph.
