What a beautiful painting so rich and thick and the colours are perfect!

Thanks so much, bites. Very kind of you. Color sets me drooling, sometimes just overwhelms me. I was painting this magnolia, big as a basketball, and couldn’t get over the sense of motion in every petal. Gave me vertigo. Like a roller coaster ride.

Thank you Dawson. Your own images are in my mind when I write this, and feel the high praise indeed from someone who shares my regard for color.

Thank you! Hank, the curves. Yes, the curves were driving me nuts, I sank into them and felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. It’s an incredible flower, the magnolia blossom. I recommend to anyone that you seize the opportunity to get close as possible to these things for the ride.

This is just divine! You put so much passion and energy into your artwork…you are really quite amazing! Keep up the good work!

Wow, thank you for what you’ve said Penny. I get terribly concerned that I’m not doing justice to what I’m painting and try to equal it’s energy. You can sail off the ground looking at flowers (well, looking at ANYTHING) and feeling the force of it’s life.

I love your work, it is dark and up-lifting all at the same time – very much like life.

  • Barbara Sparhawk replied

How beautifully said, many thanks, Carl. You make me wonder if that isn’t just how I feel without having put those words in that way before.
Yes, yes I think it fits me.
