I WANT IT ALL
Slightly different tones.
started this painting about six months ago, prior to the move to Big Sur. I want to do a bit more work on it, some changes I’ve thought to make; I don’t have brushes and palette and canvases in there yet for instance; there’s a shadow on my right shoulder that isn’t quite what I was heading for…..
But awhile back and not the first time someone said to me,
“You do whatever you please!”
Which suprised me because it was said with exclamations and I thought pretty much that was common to the human experience. Of course I do. Don’t you?
And somewhere along with all that, I started trying to identify what all I want in life and the answer is on this canvas, for starters. Which interestingly enough I began painting way before I had any idea I’d find a house to live in on Pfeiffer Beach. I’m not fully sure what I’ve got in here, the sun the moon the stars the ocean the wind the beach the mountains plants meadow dawn sunset clouds my favorite persimmon-painted wicker couch a pen to write with and paper for setting out the hieroglyphics with my right hand. I’m stirring the waters with my left hand, sending my thoughts into the either via the breeze, imagining the unimaginable, and buck nekked before the universe because clothes are silly.
Oh one more thing. I fully expect to enjoy my life and for the learning to never end. Turns out I have full control over that. Which is why I look content.
Howdy.

I`d guess this is closest to the original tones?
As for the shadows and stuff… guess you`ll just have to play with it.
But are you sure you need to change anything?
After all, this is the way you painted it when you wanted it all…
but baby, now you`ve GOT it all, this picture should be left as a tribute to a past emotion and kept untouched.
But that`s just me being stoopid.
Howdy back atcha. With a big lick on yer face!

This is just a wee bit slightly darker than the original, which has a whiter kind of look to the clouds and papers, but it’s about right. You darling, no it’s not stoopid, in fact there were changes and additions I was going to make and stopped myself. Time to do the next painting!
