My name is Robert & I was born in Jersey the largest of the Channel Islands. I lived there for 20 years and left in 1969 to travel the world. I now live in the Netherlands in Purmerend 15 km to the north of Amsterdam.
I’ve been interested in nature since I was about 4 years of age. I love everything about nature and am especially interested in birds, butterflies and dragonflies. I also do voluntary work for a number of nature protection organisations.
I bought my first digital camera in 2000 a Sony DSC V505 and in 2003 a Sony DSC F828. My first SLR camera was a Canon EOS 350d and I wasn’t very happy with this model and changed it for a Canon EOS 30D. At the moment I’m using a Canon EOS 40D.
My other hobbies are travelling, collecting stamps & banknotes depicting birds and messing around with computers.
