A Photographers Determination by

I came across this bloke Ben who had been standing at the one place in Lucky Bay, Western Australia for seemingly forever after I got there. I found out he was waiting for the perfect wave to break over some rocks he was trying to get. I also found out that he’d forgot he’s tripod so he had someone strap his camera straps around his wrists and then tied them up with bunji cord. There was no way he was going to get free if a big Bombora hit him so I decided to take this shot of him anchored in the sand and wait till he decided to leave. He then invited me over for a beer which I couldn’t in all good conscience decline. A happy night was had by all !!

PS: He got the shot he was after !!!!!!

what a great story, peter! and a lucky story for Lucky Bay – unlike mine – we locked the keys in the car and had to wait hours in the midday sun for a mechanic (day job) to come and break into the car (prob nighttime job! – he was thrilled to have a chance to work on a new model). Hope you had a great trip.
