Solace

Assured that sleep
would rent solace
to all who tread upon her
she lay in secret among the few
who’ve drawn her in,
goading the possibility of nothingness
above all else:

drawn towards the many fords
reaping none but hollow gourds
passing by those darkened doors
while lightening goes unnoticed…

See the bound
the stolen
the retched fruit,
worthless
if not a gem,
withered lest it seeks to burn
their sheep within its make-shift pen

solace sleeps in hearts of men.

This is silly…. you there and me here…then again I always did love your silly side…

  • Kristin Reynolds replied

    Thank you, Bob. :)
Well…there’s not much I can do about my sillyside..it seems I am a one-sided creature who rarely ever turns. it is a blessing and a curse.
Just call my Monty Pythin doing the silly walk through life…that’s me. :)

A restless mind stalks the heart of us all….seeking a comfort from many quarters…men are weak to the soft talk and hearts of women….xo love to K

  • Kristin Reynolds replied

Awww, you are such a sweet guy. Women can be pretty weak too, when it comes to that sort of thing. :)

    So beautifully inked,
I’ve a vision of your hand tracing each letter of each word,
    I found solace right her,
    So indeed you are right,
Solace is found in the heart.
    xx

  • Kristin Reynolds replied

I like that vision…that’s pretty much how it feels to read (after the onslaught of write) a poem I’ve written that I’m actually fond of. :) yes, I love it, thank you. :)

the italics make me hear a voice disclosing a secret. Beautiful write Kristin, solace sleeps, I like it… my spin on that is that there is not just an unconsciousness but a latency, a potential. Great.

  • Kristin Reynolds replied

Thanks, Jim. Yes, that’s why i love the italics; they can be the other voice in the poem, the one behind, the secret releaser.
Love it when you come to visit. :) xo

From impressionism in words to dada in one scoop of delightful make-shift colourful pen. Divine pleasure to read your workings, K.

Dr. Ho declares unequivocally that Solace is the other side of our involuntary desire to fail sprinkled with the wine of impossible dreams (you must love his mumbo jumbo).

  • Kristin Reynolds replied

I love your comments and insight. :) But yes, impossible mumbo-jumbo is wear I dwell every second of every day. Impossible dreams have become my every step, and I do not intend to fall.
thank you, lovely, for you! xo

Solace asleep is a wasted thing….but if we find solace through sleep then that’s another thing. “Solace sleeps in hearts of men”.....is this through heartlessness of men or can refuge be found there? An interesting read Kristin…you always bring new questions to mind.

  • Kristin Reynolds replied

    yes it is.
but solice in sleep is still a wasted thing, depending on where you are standing at the time. it depends on if one knows they are in fact, asleep.
refuge can and must be found through sleep at some points on the war-path, rest rebuilds and is necissary in war. but get to comfy, and the war will never be won or lost; you will be always on the war path…always in the midst. once begun, a war must be either won, or lost, and here…lost means death.
thanks, hun. just my take on it anyway. :)
