Carapace --Choka Sequence
A choka (Japanese poetry form, like a haiku which can be 5/7/7 or 5/7/5 written as a sequence)I wrote these as 5/7/7.
This is about one’s name, and how it holds the essence of the soul of the being itself.
Carapace --Choka Sequence belongs to the following groups:
! Creative Writing & Poetry !, "Poetry and Beautiful Women" , All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Core [C.O.R.E], Creative, Talented, and Unknown, Everyday Life, Inspired By Life, Masterpieces: Literary Workshop, The beauty of poetry, Up & Coming Writers, Vibration in Art and Verse - VAVoom! and WMGwhat is in a name
if not the essence of all –
being keepers of our art?
the whispers of green,
how it embraces the leaf,
encapsulating its heart.
the screaming of red
from a dying ripe maple
projecting the infinite.
the princess of pink,
her pure cheeks singing new life,
blushing from a clean canvass.
the chiming yellow,
how it laughs from wind tulips,
birthing sun from earth herself.
the lilac’s lament,
dripping down memory’s branches,
like an endless thought uncaught.
the sheen of sky-blue,
uninhabited by clouds
unconquered: freedom’s long cloak.
sweet orange passion
may sting one’s thirsty expanse
or ignite ones feet to dance.
what is in a name?
the meaning and the reason:
the keeper of journey’s key.

Hard to top what’s already been said, Kristin. This one is immortal really – a time honored form accomplished with extraordinary grace and depth by you. Brilliant concept, indelible meaning.
Kristin Reynolds replied
Thank you, Lianne. Names are brilliant things, governed by math, sound and the universe of law. we are bound and freed by them. thank you!

I love how you challenge yourself with your poetry. This I know wasn’t an easy task to put together, yet you make it so flawlessly beautiful. Well done indeed.
Kristin Reynolds replied
Thanks for that, JR. I actually feel very comfortable writing form poetry, the words sort of just fall into place as they are supposed to; they know where they need to be and they get there on their onw…I am mearly their scribe, the words are already there. :)

Thus it is that you shall be named the Metaphorical Master of the Imagistic Manipulation of Language. Indeed, this is what I shall call you from now on, if you will be so patient as to allow me to get it all out before you shout, “Rusty, get to the point!”
Truly, this is, yet again, such a powerful poem that one gets the feeling that reality itself is affected by your words. Actually, this is the perfect description of how so much of your poetry effects me; it is as if I have missed something essential and must see things anew. I know much more as a result of having had the gods of fate place us on such a poetic crossing. XOXO, Rusty
Blanchot
Can anyone help me to find a suitable acronym for the “Metaphorical Master of the Imagistic Manipulation of Language?” It is simply an unsuitable name for ubiquitious usage. Perhaps I should stick to K-dog. What do you think, K-dog?
Love you,
ME
Kristin Reynolds replied
K.R.I.S.T.I.N works.
love you, too. :) hardy-har!
Blanchot
I think that I like K-dog, a sign-off that you began for yourself and embued with its primordial meaning, viz., K.-B.I.A.T.C. H. Though I thought it more polite to continue with the euphemism. If you ask nicely, however, K.R.I.S.T.I.N. it is. You can ask nicely can’t you? I think so, dear. Love and signification, RBG
Kristin Reynolds replied
Yes, well, I know truth when I hear it, K.B.I.T.C.H will also work; especially in the face of R.A.S.S.
It is done.
Can I ask nicely…hell no!
well..alright. I can play nice.
Love and title,
K.B.I.T.C.H
