Invitation: to My Party of One

This is, quite simply, a poem about love and how it crosses all borders; how it finds its match, other, love through time, circumstance, and any earthly obstical. this is a poem of love and the expression, joy, and timelessness of it.

Invitation: to My Party of One belongs to the following groups:

Sensing the outcroppings
of your inward expanse
I trace
each line,
wrinkle,
and seemingly innocent
curve, twist, and warm
subtle
nuance
with my star-fire
fingertip,
letting it glide all over
your every sameness
as well as
every perfect
difference:
mind, body and soul –
see how they fit?
marking us alive
and reborn, within our own
radiant cocoon.

It is at this one
recognizable moment,
we see
like a blind man
with a new set
of crystal eyes,
that this meeting,

so like balloon strings crossing
across a clear, blue sky
made for mirrors,
and innate reflections

was inevitable.

some things are too light to stay hidden.

Our projected matter,
like diamond fishing-line reversed
exits from
the top of our heads; extending
to the stars –

all the way home,

floating up in a languid, shimmering stream,
dancing in the silence like two fire-blue strands
of hair
undulating beneath the ocean’s body,
reaching up for a like-face;
a like strand,
to move with, above
the large doses of madness,
snoring,
and the all-encompassing emptiness
of gravity.

I lift my hand
to your waiting face, and ride
the back
of my soft hand, up
your ruddy, sandpapered cheek
until your eyes reflexively
close.

one can only take so much touch
before those brilliant gems retreat
behind lids; closing – making way for
blank pages yet to be written upon
with the movement, truth and love
of another’s touch upon them…

I press my short fingernails, down
atop your earthen crown;
grazing your tingling scalp,
both rough, and light
like birds –
all talons and feathers –
brushing your hair to ends
with my slow,
deliberate fingers
until your head
slips back,
exposing your vulnerable
and most exquisite
neck,
to my warm, waiting, and achingly
wet,
open mouth –

just a taste –
a bite –

a sampling of salt and skin
as I await
your eager response.

I am smiling,
knowing full well what you want,
and what I will get
in return…

We are caught
within each-others spectrum:
there is no denying it –
we are into the other’s eyes
like silver threads –

Holding
Holding
Holding the other
as willing hostages,
healing,
processing,
relearning our match;
relighting our path.

We smile at each-other
in the moonlit room;
back
to beginnings –
to birth’s meaning.

You know the smile: no teeth bared-
just a minor c closed, and on its back –
upturned
at the mouth’s corners;
eyes downcast
slightly
but still looking up –
tease written across your every feature…

This is my secret dream;

and your private invitation
to my party.

Please, won’t you come?
You are cordially invited
to my party of One.

It is a BYOB affair:

Bring Your Open Body;
and be prepared for any
and every
exquisite
eventuality;
be ready to be thrilled until
nothing else exists
but me,
us,
and the stars
in our moonbeam eyes…

My party has only one rule:

leave your mask at the door –
there is no need of it here –
as I can see right through you
and each
lifetime
lived
in this moonlit room.

No need of a gift,
the only gift I need
is you.

You see…
my party celebrates no coincidences,
only truth wrapped
in familiar packages,
waiting on the ethereal table
to be ripped to shreds
by its host,
with all the excited avarice
that a heart
can possibly bear;

Can you see me?

My heart will be dressed
as an excited child on her birthday;
a lit-up child,
inside a woman’s body –
unrestrained
and hungry;
hungry for life
and every last thing it has to offer!

So be my package,
will you?

I would love nothing more
than to rip your secrets open;
indulge in your every gift;
bathe in your perfect fountain;
bask in your healing light;
and make love to your every
written
word;

kissing them as gently, or as hard
as you need them kissed:
I will kiss them as I kiss my own
secret dreams.

So meet me at the crossroads -
of this life, and the next
once more –
I’ll be the one standing
beside my open-mouthed mailbox,
wrapped in white ribbons;
shining light from my every pore,
writing myself awake
in the waking dream of, IS,

awaiting patiently
your RSVP.

    Where do I start? This was so captivating Kristin. The format of your work flowed to the point where you would then stop and ponder that stanza to then continue on to the next where you built up the pace just a bit more. Breathless stuff…you have a real gift with your expressions of word love…XXX

    Woa! Let me take a breath. So many descriptive words all leading to a special meaning and you feel like if you are dancing a waltz and just enjoying, enjoying the upcoming beat, the melody all wrapped in one and you want to continue dancing, reading to the very end of the music until the music finally stops and then you realize that it was a beautiful, beautiful dance and it has left you breathless gasping for air. Loved it. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    K, You are the Queen of Queens. What an incredible piece of work. I am flabergasted by the sheer power and energy, which is at times so restrained and at others casts itself out as if flames by a dragon. You truly are THE Amazing. Love,
