The Sun – On Touching, and Being Touched

I wrote this back in January for a contest about The Sun, and how it makes you feel. This is what the sun does for me.

The Sun – On Touching, and Being Touched belongs to the following groups:

(The snow is melting. I shake off my chill
with the deftness of fall shoulders
and exit
this dying season…

Outside,
pouring forth in shining rivulets,
he comes,
into my dreams via my heart,
behind my lids – beaming through my pours,
invading my clinging winter; sighing
upon skin that has forgotten
what it is
to feel heat…

Blooming out the door, arms seeking no shelter, I reach
into clean, crisp light –
I can feel its familiar new shift;
the nuance of summer on a coming breeze – sand,
oceans, and warm hair glowing;
every base emotion waking into something new
yet ancient, and as soon as I let myself melt
into his golden hands,
I hear him…)

Feel me,
soft upon your face;
the warmth
of stroking worries
down, down my hand sketching
your vehement hair – like beaches
love and sandy blankets
held,
and holding;
let me blaze your dark
with golden breath;
burning fear with alive and healing light –

my love,
let me shine upon you.

Come lay upon the morning grass
in nothing but your gifts
from God;
let me heat your glowing
skin,
with all the answers that you seek.

I am the only balm you need
to free your frozen past unfound;
close your eyes (can you see me?) until
you feel
my pulsing,
beating
heart
behind your eyelids,
soothing waves
lighting caves –
freeing cold from icy chains,

I live,
to feed your soul!

See me glinting from your eyes;
feel me touch your sultry locks;
smell me on your salty skin;
hear me through your parted lips;
taste my passion in your sweat –

these are the fruit’s that pour from heat,
and burgeon,
from my love for you.

Now go, my love,
into my heart –
the day is yours to sweet unchain,
where always
I will wrap you up
in sheets of warm spun gold;

(and leave a kiss upon your skin, for when the skies
have come to rain)

this sun I shine,
is all for you.
