Wonderful piece…....................your line is powerful and the horse emerging from the black is inspired, the red of the eye says passion…......as I said wonderful.

wow. i really have had no interest in horses at all apart from as the referrence wherein george stubbs (the painter and surgeon guy dude) finally disproved aristotles’ ideas of the funcition of the PULSE….
he was a GREAT painter and he painted cool horses. this to me is fairly rare…
this is the first painting of a horse i have liked…. (apart frrom the side feature mebbe of the blind horse in fuseli’s ‘the nightmare’)
apart from good old mr stubbs.
oh and he managed to convince the roayl soceity in the late 19thc that the pulse was, you know – what it is – by divesting a horse of its entire circulatory system in front of an audience of hundreds of members.
up until then everyone who said that the pulse wasn’t the ‘EBB AND FLOW’ got ‘
you think YOU know BETTER than ARISTOTLE@!!’
and thus wetern medical science was halted until a painter of horses came along and took one apart.
er.
yes. well have been up for a while.
xx
great work babe.

Love this. You have captured an essence here..the sadness of what now? The merging horse from the end of his career. Wonderful passion and empathy shown in his eye. Speaks volumes. Wonderful work.

Lovely image, can you erase pastels if you make a mistake?
hatefueled replied
thank you. not very well no. I tend to use card or textured paper when using pastels too so the eraser would just eat up the page.
