Suffering For Sanity

Suffering For Sanity

”...Now I understand what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they did not know how.
Perhaps they’ll listen now.

For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you. ‘

‘Starry Starry Night- Don McLean Lyrics’

your work gets more and more beautiful and powerful. however the title… what the fuck would you know?

  • hatefueled replied

O.o harsh. well to explain the title, i decided she appeared to be gazing at the stars and was going to title it starry starry night but when i remembered the rest of the song to Vincent was cooler i picked that part.

ok sure. coolness. what the fuck exactly would fucking don mclean know either? to me, KNOWING, the song is trite, shallow, false shit. if you want passion and acuity, try re-reading my lyrics. and don’t forget what i GAVE YOU.

the drawing far, far exceeds the song. in every way.

thank you. I’m just not very good at coming up with titles to go with the work, i almost always turn to the first song that pops up into my head. sorry.

You got me! The title drew me in but I associate it with memories of many, many Friday evenings, playing 500, with friends, in Balmain, drinking, far, far, too much (very cheap) wine.
And loving it! as Maxwell would say.
    Meanwhile….great work of art!!

lovely piece, beautiful portrait. and I think the title is fine, after all a lot of us suffer silently on the inside.
