I want to share these things with you

I felt inspired to write when a dear friend came to visit who I hadn’t seen for a long time. Times throughout the year I had wanted to share the small, simple things in life with loved ones. Weather it be time, distance or even death that kept us apart…..

I want to share these things with you…..

To walk on beaches full of sand,
To let it flow right through my hands.
To play in rock pools on the shore,
I want to share this and so much more….

To share my garden, in which I worked so hard,
The garden that the gargoyles guard.
I planted roses and honeysuckle too,
I planted them just for you.

To walk through meadows with grass tall and strong,
We could do this all day long.
As butterflies rise from the stems,
And dance upon the pollen ends.

To feed the squirrels in the park,
Where families and friends enjoy a lark.
Where my little Robin comes to feed,
He helps himself to all the seed.

To see leaves turn to a golden hue,
An explosion of russet colours to share with you.
To put on wellies and crunch my way through,
I want to share this fun with you.

To curl up on a comfy couch,
To share more secrets, of that there’s no doubt.
I miss our chats, and putting the world to rights,
Our happy chatter throughout the night.

To come and help me choose a tree,
And put lots of tinsel on it with me.
To enjoy our Christmas meal at home,
Where turkey, flaming puds and wine does flow.

To feel the frosts upon the ground,
The first daffodils can be found.
Where water turns to crystals in the cold
Where magic secrets can be told.

To see the bluebells and Hyacinths in the dell,
And to enjoy their wonderful heady smell.
Where fairies live, and magic too,
I want to share this wonder with you.

I miss you friend,
And think of all I do,
And wish that I could share it all with you.
