This shot was taken in Cambridge in the UK. We visited Cambridge today to see the carpet of crocuses but although they were up they weren’t open so I took some walls instead :o)
white, sign, cambridge, plain
www.rustography.com is where it is at.
This, I think, beats all the crosuses of the world ;-)At least, it does for me. Thank you so muchfor taking this, and bringing it back to us all.
No problem glad you like it. I am sure people in Cambridge might know this wall it’s on the side of a pub and obviously the road is called Pound Hill :o)
Great shot! That bit of blue is perfect.
Thanks – Glad you pointed that out as I tried it without but I too think that little blue sign works wonders for the comp.
As a matter of fact, I live part of the year in Newmarket, and I go to Cambridge on a regular basis, but I never stumbled upon this wall..:-)
Have been to Newmarket a couple of times – horses? Pound Hill is just off the ring road on Northampton St. A few years ago I enjoyed shooting flowers but they don’t do it for me anymore :o)
Horses, indeed. They have been the first passion of my entire life.I was brought up by horses,so to speak . . . :-)I like your progression from flowersto walls . . . ;-)
You have such a wonderful eye for composition on these walls, Love the way you set this one up..great looking wall HH..hope you have had a great weekend.
Thanks Kim – had a good day in Cambridge and Sunday in Hitchin got me a few nice shots too ;o) – I just had to have the blue sign in this and the slope of the roof gave me the top crop so I didn’t have to do too much work. The risky part was I was stood in the middle of the road while taking the shot so had to be quick :o)
Thanks Angela always good to hear from you.
Wall, of course, are much more dependable than crocuses! (Or markets, for that matter.) You don’t have to wait for them, or to hurry for them, and if you come back for different light, they generally are still there. :)
Good point – they also never moan about the make-up or if their bum looks big or the harsh lighting or…. etc etc :o)
Great, great, great!
Thanks, thanks, thanks :o)
Super work HH.
