Concord Bridge, Smyrna, Georgia by

Photo taken at The Covered Bridge (historical landmark) located in Historic Smyrna, Georgia. This entire area of Smyrna is just amazingly beautiful. I am so happy to finally get some shots of this historic bridge.
Concord Bridge is 131.7 feet long and 16 feet wide. It was built in 1872. This bridge is open to traffic. It is over Nickajack Creek. Red more about this historic monument HERE

Sweet! What an awesome time worn bridge. I love the old wooden bridges. Great POV>

  • Sheryl, I have lived here for going on 5 years now and had NO IDEA this was a few miles from my home. This whole area is breathtakingly beautiful and from the outside, the bridge looks like a good wind would blow it over (LOL) but it is reinforced with steel and concrete now, and its still only 1 lane, so going over it is quite the feat, especially in a huge SUV. It was such a fun day, and I knew this would be a perfect photo for the TW group. Hope you are well, dear! Happy holidays!!

I used to have a covered bridge right down the road from my house. It had been rebuilt. Really love this image. I can see it getting featured in the future. lol Thanks for sharing this with the group. Happy Holidays to you too.

  • Thank you, honey!

You got a much better photo than I did! There were more browns in my shot. I like the green. It’s not the nicest bridge I’ve ever seen, but this photo is fabulous! Great work!

  • Its all in the editing, Eileen. It looked kind of drab to me too, so I tweaked the photo a bit with Corel PSP4 and added a slight green tint – the moss on the sides wasnt nearly as prominent in real life. :) Thanks a bunch – it was a fun shoot and I got a ton of great photos.
