Living on the streets isn't all fun and games by

I saw this while walking thru a parking lot at the local market. Hopefully, this was just discarded by a diabetic or other patient and not by a junkie. I didnt want to touch it (to throw it away) as I had no idea who had left it there and I dont need any more health problems, so after I photographed this lovely find, I walked away and let it be. But I couldnt help but think that this belonged to someone with a real problem, and for a moment, I wished that I knew them and could maybe offer some help. I have been there – I did many things in the 80’s that I am paying for now – THIS is one of them. I still feel a little pang of guilt and remorse in my gut from just viewing this photo. I am VERY thankful that I got out of the “scene” and cleaned up, got sober, stopped all this childish nonsense, and began a long journey to find myself and what place I had in this world.

Inspired by the film RUSH starring Jason Patrick and Jennifer Jason Leigh, 1991.

wow. powerful image, Scott. hopefully, it will be destroyed before a junkie can pick it up . . .

  • I hope so, or even worse, a small child thinking its a f***ing toy. This is horrible, thats why I wanted to pick it up.

It was shorter than writing all the thoughts this shot brings to mind. I should have put something more, but every time I looked I thought something different. See now I’m just waffling

  • LOL – I was totally confused.
