My idea here was to take a beautiful photo and show, thru the processing, what is going on in my head. I am going thru some tough times and I need to reflect that in my art. So I took a lovely photo and, with textures and filters, turned it into something a little dark, creepy, and off kilter (cuz thats how I feel – as if I cant seem to find my smile.)

my Sunflower #23 photo with enhanced filtering, textures, and added effects.

it’s so super to see people submitting things to ‘anxiety’ group that aren’t necessarily photos of people or pain! what a clever idea scotty!!!

  • I was hesitant to submit this, Heather, but I HATE self portraits, so I thought I would show my mood, my anxiety, and my inner battle thru this type of photo manipulation. Thanks for accepting it and thank you so much for understanding where I am coming from. You truly rock. xox

Some times pictures say more then words or easier to show then say what we feel. The dark speckles I get a sense of those bits of our minds that nag at us, making us worry and concerned and irrationial thoughts that plague us. The bright colour is your understanding and strong believe that this moment will pass and that you cannot put your finger on why you feel off kilter youjust feel it. I look forward to seeing more of your work

  • YOu hit the nail right on the head, Karen. Sometimes I dont know how to put my feelings into words, so I use art. Most of my work reflects some sort of inner struggle. Words can be misleading sometimes, or just plain lies., Art cannot lie, because its all in the interpretation. Thank you for seeing that in my work.

Scott, it is easy to fav your photos. Your heart and soul goes into the work. It is easy to see. I am so sorry that these smiles you put on other people’s faces can not be on yours too. I guess each of us are going through our own hell for some reason or other. Take care of yourself and if I can be of help, please let me know. Beautiful work.

  • That made my day, Brenda. Thank you so very much for your kind words and for your kind heart!!! I guess I have always been at my best, artistically, when I am depressed. I have great friends, a great family, a wonderful new group of friend on RB – I really am blessed to have so much love in my life. The rest, hopefully, will follow suit and fall into place. :)xx
