This is a commission and my client is happy! So am I!
There are many similarities between different countries. For me this could be in the Drakensberg, South Africa. For my client it looks like Michigan.
“Out of Africa a scene from my home State of Michigan. This wondrous painting immerses me in our Northwoods. A crystal clear trout stream in the Autumn, lined with Cedar, Maple, and Pine with the hills rising in the distance. I can feel the pull of the current and imagine the trout rising to feed….”
On 18 June 2012 I received an e-mail from Michigan:" Elizabeth, Your painting arrived yesterday while I was at work, a friend took delivery. All intact after your meticulous packaging. Whew!!! Quite the adventure unwrapping it I must say.
As I knew it would be your work is stunning. It will hang soon in a place of honor. Thank you so much for your efforts in all of this. It was a pleasure for me to have had the privilege to meet you and now to enjoy your work.
I absolutely love the painting and it will sustain me between trips to the North.
Be well, Jim."
I’m feeling grateful and happy!

THANKS so very much to Maree Clarkson
who bought a greeting card today! (3 June 2012)
(The Drakensberg (Afrikaans: Drakensberge, Dutch: Drakensbergen, “the Dragon Mountains”) is the highest mountain range in Southern Africa, rising to 3,482 metres (11,424 ft) in height. In Zulu, it is referred to as uKhahlamba (“barrier of spears”), and in Sesotho as Maluti (also spelled Maloti). Its geological history lends it a distinctive character amongst the mountain ranges of the world.) Info: Wikipedia.

I dedicate this painting to Jim Hudson in Michigan, USA. Thanks so much for your wonderful support!
