Translation in English:

Prayer

my hands tremble in mine
in the deepest place
where I sometimes pray

my hands in prayer
too impoverished
too cautious

my soul howls
and cries out

my body wavers
in whispered fragments
of doubt

I pray too uncertainly
too blindly

the night is coal-black

I haven’t taken the time to translate to English, but the hands say it all. Very gentle.

  • Thanks for your lovely words Sally….I’ll make time to add a translation a.s.a.p. Much appreciated!

That’s ok. Maree told me to just copy and past into google translations. I will do that. Need to learn something new. Thanks

  • Sally, you can read the translation here
My friend, the poet (Zadu) was so kind to write it in English too! I’m sure you will enjoy it more than the Google translation! ;-)

Die vertaling is uiters pragtig en boeiend Liz – ek lief die “too impoverished, too cautious …” – uitstekend!

Lieflik vir my!
