Autumn colours, water, reflections, Oil painting, 95 × 76 cm.
I enjoyed painting this because autumn is my favourite season. The inspiration was a visit to Dullstroom in SOUTH AFRICA.
This was done from a photo I took while visiting Dullstroom, a lovely place! Dullstroom’s village and farm environment offers the ideal opportunity for families to bond in beautiful natural surroundings – be it at trout waters, on horseback, bird watching or engaging in the vast variety of nature related activities.
This village was founded in the early 1880’s, a.o. by Johan Henricus Janson Jr. He and and his brothers (Bastiaan Willem, Teunis Nicolaas Hendrik, and Willem Constantijn) have played important roles in the community the next decades.
