Birches (berkebome: Afrikaans) are enchanting trees that embody beauty and grace. While most types of Birch trees grow to roughly 40 feet, some, such as the Paper and Yellow Birch can soar to 80 feet tall. I would love to have some of them in my garden in South Africa. You can read some more and very interesting info about these unique trees here

Beautiful depiction of these lovely trees Liz. I would also like to have them in my garden again, but they drink such copious amounts of water I have difficulty in keeping up with them!

  • Thanks so much Maree…I didn’t know that!! Thanks for the info. A friend of mine have them and they make such a lovely picture.

A tree who has a variety of itself found in every corner of the world I believe. Very beautifully painted Elizabeth.

  • Thanks Jim! Smile, yes I’m sure one will find it anywhere, but in order to enter it in my and Maree’s group AFRIKAANS, I have to mention the word South Africa in my description! Hope you will understand why most of my paintings have a similar description…. ;-)
Many thanks for the kind compliment!
