This unique landscape has such a strong sense of the surreal and at first glance looks as though there has been a lot of ‘Clone Stamping’ going on – though I know this not the case. You have depicted the devastation of this savage bushfire in a most artistic way yet successfully retained the full meaning and impact of the destruction caused during the fire. I really like how the bare yellow ‘trunks’ of the Grass Trees stand so defiently in the landscape. Knowing that these plants actually thrive on the occassional bushfire they also stand as a metaphor for new life and hope.
