You have used the structure of the plant very well in your composition and the mood your photography and processing has created is quite striking.
A nice sharp, (showing sharpening artifacts though), partial silhouette with just enough detail and absolutely wonderful tones.

There is something spooky about this image Hans. It has something of a claw or sceletal hand reaching out to the fading light of life…
It reminds me a bit of that hand in the Excalibur legend – the hand of “The Lady of the Lake”, the one that reaches out and catches the magic sword to keep it with her at the bottom of the lake for ever more…

This unusual tree looks a bit like the yuccas that grown here except we have green blade type leaves and white flowers that bloom on them. The basic shape looks similar. A very striking image, Hans. Very beautiful.
