Taken very shortly after sunset, I assume. The shutter speed must have been short enough to freeze any movement in the water.
The light is indeed sensational and the foreground detail is most captivating.

The beautiful light obviously, but I also like the classic, symmetrical composition, especially the way that the horizon lines up with the tide marks on the posts.
