Friday practice for the 2010 Cleveland National Air Show.

Blue Angels #4 had a stuck tail hook during practice. It sure didn’t slow him down one bit.

During the Dirty Diamond Loop, the Blue Angels deploy landing gear and tail hooks and proceed to do a large loop in formation. After clearing the show line they then retract the gear and tail hooks and continue on. The #4 Blue Angel’s tail hook did not retract on Friday, even after several attempts.

The Boss(#1 pilot) deemed the issue as minor and allowed the #4 pilot to continue to fly the entire demo. Prior to landing, Boss instructed #4 to land last. Once #4 touched down, he quickly came to a stop after dragging the hook 1/4 way down the runway and met up with the maintenance crew.

The crew managed to get the hook to retract and #4 quickly taxi-ed to the Blue Angels team that was holding at the end of runway. The entire team of six the proceeded to their parking locations at Burke Lakefront Airport.

I am an amateur photographer falling more in love with the art with every capture I take. I am based in the Northeast of America but my passion is for the landscapes of the desert Southwest.

The subjects I mainly focus on are landscapes, city scapes, aviation, and architectural photography. But you never know where the next inspiring scene will come from, so I never limit myself to any box.
