statues
The “Conversation Piece” consists of 22 copper-bronze statues near The Groyne lighthouse at Littlehaven Beach, South Shields. Designed by Spanish artist Juan Munoz they have been a talking point for the last few years. Oddly, from a distance you can never be sure who is talking to who – human or statue!
Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

Very surrealistic feel.
Do they have “weebles” over there? Or are they just a USA thing?
Tammy Soulliere
great work!! Love the colors and fancy those statues on those squares, wonders if they are speaking of how they are being used as a pawn of sorts?

It’s an amazing thing to see. When French turn of last century sculptor Auguste Rodin made the Burghers of Callais, a group of free-standing figures, he was roundly tromped for having the gall to tamper with standards (much worth the time for a look). Without knowing it fully, we all set the next bunch free.
Beautiful photograph, Andy, and you’ve given it proper drama in front of that wonderful sky. Never easy to photograph sculpture, the artist would I’m sure be very pleased.

Earlier comment, knowing full well who you are Hank, just having seen Andy’s photograph of Stonehenge and brain rattled with the excess of eye candy. Please forgive this gross stupidity on my part.

Brilliant shot Mark & a great talking point. I’d have a go at getting more white into the clouds. Selective colour adjustment would be my approach but again its just an opinion & not something to pay too much attention to.

The shot is as fascinating as the sculptures themselves. The surreal effect invites the viewer to experience the sculptures as if walking among the. At first I thought it was a digital painting given the otherworldly effect of these statues. The perspective enhances these captivating sculptures.

I love these round, round figures! Looks like a Mad, Alice in Wonderland chessboard. Intense blues and rusts. Is the center figure explaining the rules to the game?
All sorts of questions occur to me. That’s one of the things (many) that I like about this work.
