Reductive Ink printing is somewhat of a cross between block printing and screen printing. Using a table top for a print plate and tracing vellum for masking and texturing, one basically reduces or builds up ink on either the plate or the paper in layers and transfers the image via pressure on the backside of the print. Amount and placement of pressure affects texture and anomalies.

As an artist I admit to floating between worlds of reality and perception, peering into many concepts but seldom at home in any. My art work is therefore a scattered and biased report of these journeys. Not the world as it is or as it should be, rather possibilities of what may be.

    To Stephen Haning -

This has a timless feel to its construct …

This is what Blake would have created if he was born in our time!

    Great work … Kirrill D’Kainn

What an incredibly well composed piece! Love the concept, and the execution from start to finish!
PS My computer wanted to spell check that as:
“What an incurably well composed piece …. Now I don’t know which I like better!

  • Thank you! It was a very quick piece for me to do. Only a little over an hour. I usually take several hours or days and then screw something up. I like the “incurably” idea. Perhaps such an affliction would help make more and better works.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! This is soooooo cool! I love it! Every little detail!

  • Many thank yous! Funny… the lack of details I aimed for in this are what sped the process up and seem to have made it my hottest work of late. Glad you love it!
