I love your greyscale, is it made out of millions of tiny strokes?

Yes , its hard to see at the scale dispayed on computer screens but all the tones are countless layers of crosshatching, as well as adjusting the pressure of the actual stroke. The drawing surface can affect the process, couple of layers of paper under the drawing vs a solid hard table top will determine the width of the ball stroke, (softer surface requires more pressure to mark but equals a wider line thus appearing darker)
