Thank You for the comment. It comes as a bit of a suprise in that I didn’t think it uploaded successfully. The internet in this area is abit gonzo.

This picure is one of a small series that roughly revolves around Shiva. goddess of resurection, change. Often called the goddess of distruction by those of less open minds.

loving this series …..SHIVA….can you bmail some details on her …...i would love to hear more about her….i heard of her but never was able to get a clear def of who she is
i’m loving your pen work…..and especially how you have this one composed
is this your own idea or drawn from a reference…...nice

  • Stephen Haning replied

This is my own idea, however it is drawn from two similar seated poses off two different models, The multiple arms include the gestures on those poses as well as images pulled from others. The faces and hair are an inspired compilation of three other photos. All the photos used are from magazines and advertisements but not copied directly. I have the ability to draw what ever I am looking at in mirror image with out to much difficulty. The artifacts she is holding were most likely inspired by what ever article(s) or advertizements on adjacent pages. As I flip through magazines images that move me often “stick” together to form a composite silhouette that I often am compelled to draw days or months later.
So far as who she is I know little other that she is a Hindu idol often portraied as male or non genderd and is often blue. Usually has less arms than I have depicted.
Thank you for enjoying and asking about my method(s)
