Artist's Description

I am not gonna lie to u, this is what i would personally called “PHOTOSHOPPED”.

The colour was there, i did not change the colour just give it a little boost, lighten the shadow areas and turn down the brightness of the sky.

I don’t normally photoshop my image this much, but this one needed it. I usually just go back and wait for the right moment, but Bali is just a little too far to get there easily. So when mother nature doesn’t delivered, one would have to improvise and make do with what they have.

I must say that I am still surprise how much detail can be bought back with RAW of a 5D, those who wonder if it is that much better then non FF – wonder no more. I can’t wait to see what the 5D MkII can do. Don’t even want to think about the 1Ds Mk III.

I once talk to a great landscape photographer, he was telling me a story.

He was once told that taking things out of the photo by photoshop is wrong. All that capture should stay in the photo. Changing the colour of the photo is wrong, it should be what the eye sees.
Then one day, he met a landscape painter sitting by the beach, painting. He walk up to the painter, pause, look at the painting and asked, “Where is THAT telegraph pole gone?”. The painter replied, “It doesn’t suit the image, so i am not gonna paint it”.

So, do you think all the painting you’ve seen are a TRUE represention of the truth?
