Heron's Haven
Taken on the Hazlewood pondage in Gippsland Victoria, the pond is at a constant 17 degree’s celcius and makes a lovely mist in cold weather due to the temperature, and compliments of the power station that requires the water for cooling the generators for our power supply.
This Heron came down for an impromptue ,photo shoot

Very beautiful composition with the inclusion of your guest. LOL! The scene is just idyllic. :-)
Just outside Sacramento is a very large pond for recreation that was built for the same purpose as the one in your image. Unfortunately, our pond was the site of the nuclear reactor with the worst safety record in America, Rancho Seco. There were a few “minor” radiation leaks into the pond from time to time before someone spilled a Coke on a control station, damn near caused The China Syndrome in my backyard, and got the reactor shut down forever.
People fish and swim and play in that water. I don’t hug any of them.
Trudi ~ in reply to Lenny La Rue, IPA’s comment, 5 months ago
Thanks Lenny,l don’t think l would want to hug any of them either you might start to glow !! we don’t have any nuclear power here,we just supply the uranium to everyone else for theirs,we are still burning brown coal for fuel, and are now starting to look at energy from the wind to try and do our part for the ozone layer…......l am glad that the thing in your backyard did’nt blow as l am very sure you are,and l am glad they shut it down you must feel much safer. Thanks for commenting Lenny it is always appreciated!
