I went out to find the perfect gift for you,
I hate what I found was nothing like I knew,
I thought to bring something which will set us free,
Cuz we ended up in a place where we never thought to be.
So all I could choose for you was this poisonous ecstasy,
One piece was for you and one piece was for me.
I held the pieces out and told you to chose one,
Your hands started shaking and you could choose none.
I followed it with a smile and told you not to worry,
A tear rolled down your eyes and you forced a smile in hurry.
My gift that I had brought was the reason of your sorrow,
One piece was to face today and the other to see tomorrow.
You held my hand tightly and on my shoulder put your head,
And begged not to do this and forget what you had said.
I told you to look up in sky and tell the stars not to shine again,
If that happens ever then I promise I’ll unwind the pain.
Again when I asked you to choose you again began to cry,
One piece was to hide the truth and the other to unleash your lies.
With a heavy heart you picked one piece and looked what’s in store,
My expecting eyes followed you to find that you are hurt to core.
You looked at the piece and closed your eyes pretending to wait,
Just then I grabbed your hand and told you this piece was my fate.
With a big gulp I swallowed it whole without looking at your reaction.
One piece perished inside me while the other was waiting your attention.
As poison rushed through my veins in your lap I rested the last time,
I could see you were astounded and I know what crossed your mind.
It was too late to think, it was too late to react,
You could set things right but you never chose to act.
Going alone I sense that you don’t deserve to be where you stand,
Cuz when they burry me into ashes, one piece was still in my hand.
